This site is all about Long Island's rich history, gleaned from the interpretation of persistent remnants of the past. The site is broken down into the following sections:
Ruins : These are leftover pieces of eras of bygone Long Island which have a story to tell. Examples include large abandoned facilities like the Kings Park Psychiatric Center or trolley tracks in a Northport roadway. We also include historic structures which have been restored and serve new purposes. We applaud those who restore and preserve such structures.
Around Town : Every Long Island neighborhood has its own historic and intriguing features. Here we walk you through our neighborhoods and examine ruins, historic places and points of interest.
Museum Corner : Remnants of Long Island's history can also be found in our many spectacular museums. This is our review of some of LI's best museums.
