Camp Hero was once an US Air Force base charged with protecting the east coast. It is the stuff that legends are made of, at least as far as conspiracy theories go. It was the basis for the series of books titled "The Montauk Project", which alleges the base was used for time-space warping, mind control, and alien encounters. Now it sits quietly as a State Park where it costs $6 to enter. There are still some spots that are off limits (see map).

This house is made partly out of strong concrete designed to look like wood. The areas seen in white are concrete, and the rest is real wood.
This door is concrete too. At first we thought the state did this to keep out vandals, but then why bother painting on a doorknob and panels?
Same house again with the Montauk Lighthouse in the background.
Abandoned guard shack (sentry box).
Radar tower.
Doorway to radar tower.
Another building.
