This was the one time estate of Luis comfort Tiffany, best known for his artwork with stained glass. Laurelton Hall got its name from a resort that was located on the property before Tiffany bought it. One can only imagine how beautiful this estate would have been. He later made the estate into a sanctuary for artists to experiment. The estate eventually became abandoned and a good part of it burnt down in the 50s. The minaret can still seen and is a rare testament that the estate once here. The estate also had a chapel which was saved along with other works of art from the estate and can now be seen at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum in Florida. The Loggia was also removed and can be viewed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The minaret was actually used as a chimney for the estates steam plant. It is amazing that even something like that was given such detail and beauty.
