Inside a sunburst building
tubercular ward. At the time Sunburst was used to house TB
patients the best treatment was thought to be fresh air. The
patients would spend countless hours in caged in porches.
Each ward consisted of two bedrooms and no dayroom, because
the patients would use the porches instead.

Now see inside a more modern ward in the
Concoran buildings. The patients
here would spend there time in either the dayroom or the bedroom
dorm. The ward would typically have about 40 people living
in it.

Another part of patient life at CI was recreation
and Robbins hall served as a
theater, bowling alley and commissary. I the theater the patients
would put on performances for other patients and staff.
